Organising Department
  The Department of Community Medicine at Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore was established in the year 1977, with the objective of providing preventive, promotive, and curative health care services to the people of Mangalore. The department is well known for its quality research publications in high-impact national and international journals. It holds the distinction of being the first in the country to incorporate research into the undergraduate medical curriculum through a structured research methodology program. The department is also well known for its collaborations with various national and international funding agencies and is actively involved in evidence-based decision-making in health policy and programs for the GOI, WHO, UNICEF, and many other reputed organizations.

Host institute
  Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), established in the year 1955, is a centre of excellence in medical education and research. It is the first college in India to be developed under the public- private partnership model in medical education and health care delivery. Under the model, the college provides professional, diagnostic, and laboratory services to two government hospitals, in return, utilizing the hospital for student training. KMC, Mangalore ranks among the top 25 medical colleges in the country and is one of the 20 International Medical Schools recognized by the Educational Commission for Foreign Graduates (ECFMG) for its electronic credentials verification program. It was ranked 6th among all private medical colleges in India by the Week Hansa Survey 2022.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) – An Institution of Eminence, Deemed to be university
